Tessa Kortmulder (Amsterdam, 2000) graduated from the Fine Art department at the Utrecht University of the Arts in 2023, where she focused primarily on filmmaking, video art and performance. Her graduation project, a 25-minute road movie titled Whether I’d Pass Lyon, received a Wildcard from the Netherlands Film Fund. This award provided the production budget for her upcoming short film, Number 4 (self-portrait with Mattias), which is currently in post-production.
In her work, Tessa strives to blend her passion for language, imagery, poetry, and music with a deep interest in human behavior, intimacy, and communication.
In addition to her work as a film director and screenwriter, Tessa has worked as an assistent director in both theater and opera.
